in 2015 I was asked to design Mary Poppins in Lubbock Texas. Lubbock is the home town of Buddy Holly and I had recreated many Lubbock locations in Buddy the Buddy Holly Story some 28 years previously. I wanted to work in Lubbock as a tribute to Buddy who changed my life forever.  This show was HUGE ..28 musicians in the pit, 65 in the cast and 30 crew. The good will and desire for the show to succeed in a community that doesn't get touring shows pass through was intoxicating and I had a blast working in this small town that so wants to celebrate musical theater and did so on a grand scale.
